Upgrade Your Existing Fuel Cell Positions

If you want to upgrade the cycle of your Fuel Cell position, you can do so with the “Upgrade” feature.
You can upgrade your Fuel Cell position to any available length that is greater than your current Fuel Cell position. For example, if the existing Fuel Cell position you want to upgrade is a 3-month position, you can upgrade to 9-month, 24-month, or the maximum 48-month. If the existing Fuel Cell position you want to upgrade is 9-month, you can upgrade to 24-month or 48-month. If your existing Fuel Cell position is 24-month, you can only upgrade to 48-month.
Do note that 48-month is the longest Fuel Cell length we offer at the moment.
Step 1: Locate the Fuel Cells Page
Head to the “$H2” tab on the navigation bar and hover on the tab. A dropdown with Fuel Cells will appear. Click on the dropdown and you’ll find the details.
Step 2: Select Position to Upgrade
Make sure you are on the “My Positions” tab on the Fuel Cells page. Choose the position you want to upgrade and click “Upgrade”.
Note: If the “Upgrade” button is grayed out, it means the position you are trying to upgrade is a 48-month position and the longest Fuel Cell cycle we have available.
Step 3: Select New Position Length and Confirm
Choose the Fuel Cell cycle you want to upgrade to, review the position details, and click “Confirm”.
Note: The APRs will vary based on Fuel Cell utilization. In general, the earlier and longer you lock your $H2 tokens, the higher the APR. The APR will lower as more tokens are locked across Fuel Cells.
No, it does not change. Your Fuel Cell position start date will remain the same regardless of the date of upgrade. For example, if you create a 3-month position on Jan. 1st, 2025, and you upgrade to a 24-month position on Feb. 1st, 2025, your position’s start date will remain as Jan. 1st, 2025 and the lockup period will end on Jan. 1st, 2027.
